History

1953
Steel ingot molding and surface plate repair work begins at Sumitomo Metal Industries' Osaka Steel Works.
1955
OSAKA FUJI Corporation is established on April 3. Steel ingot molding and surface plate repair work begins at Sumitomo Metal Industries' Wakayama Steel Works.
1960
Head Office is constructed in Kukuchi-kawata, Amagasaki. Machining, build-up welding, and special welding of rolled steel and other materials begin at the plant.
1969
Omigawa Plant is constructed in Omigawa Industrial Park in Katori, Chiba Prefecture. Machining, build-up welding, and special welding of cans, rolled steel, and rollers begin at the plant.
1975
Metalizing spraying and self-fluxing alloy spraying work begin at Head Office Plant.
1976
Head Office No. 1 Plant is constructed at Jokojinishino-cho in Amagasaki. The facility develops submerged arc hardfacing technology for large-format, high-carbon rolled steel and begins welding work.
1977
A plant for build-up welding of large-format rolled steel, manufacturing of large cans, and welding processing is constructed at Omigawa Plant.
1983
A water plasma spraying system is purchased from Czechoslovakia and installed at Senboku Plant. Ceramic spraying and processing work begins. A jet coat spraying system is purchased and installed.
1984
The company enters the silicon single crystal processing business. OCC continuous casting technology is introduced.
1989
Material Center is formed at 1 Hama, Amagasaki-shi, Hyogo Prefecture, and OCC Division and new building material (metal cardboard) departments are moved to the new facility.
1991
A new corporate identity is introduced featuring the current corporate mark and statement.
2001
Silicon Division begins processing silicon wafer using wire saws.
2004
The company acquires rights to the rolled steel business of Kantoku Technos Co., Ltd. Manufacturing of rolled steel begins at Omigawa Plant. Silicon Division earns ISO 9001 certification.
2004
Construction of Silicon Division Soja Plant is completed.
2005
The company celebrates the 50th anniversary of its founding in April.
2006
Silicon Division (Soja Plant), Senboku Plant, Omigawa Plant (Rolled Steel Department), and Amagasaki Plant (Al-Wave Section) earn ISO 9001:2000 certification.
2007
S.I.TEC CO., LTD., (a manufacturer of electric machinery and electronic parts) joins the OFIC Group.
2008
A precision and vehicle part processing business is launched at Process Division's Amagasaki Plant.
2008
Construction of new Head Office Building is completed in March.
2008
The company makes an investment in Ohara Quartz Co., Ltd., (which manufactures, processes, and sells quartz glass).
2009
Construction of Process Division Wakayama Plant in Saikazaki, Wakayama Prefecture, is completed.
2012
Established Vietnam Office in Ho Chi Minh City, Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
2013
Joint research chair with National University Corporation Osaka University started.
